Comics and Cartoons as a Writing Strategy

Two-hour classes with loads of drawing, writing and cartooning applications that help students create their own characters and storylines.

A fast-paced and fun comic-creating session that will crush writer’s block, through collaboration, humour and tackling deadlines. Enhanced with a few creative drawing games with a focus on the silly, the ridiculous and the profound! I keep the class sizes small (10 students maximum) to ensure individual attention.

The workshops are held in two studios

Rolling Tales Pop Culture (10219-106th Street)

Old Strathcona Farmers Market (10310-83 Ave NW)

We have an amazing new classroom at Rolling Tales. They also stock comic books, manga, and graphic novels. Rolling Tales has tabletop role-playing games including accessories, miniatures, and supplies to enhance your hobbies. Their children’s section of comics, books and graphic novels is second to none. A wonderful place to find inspiration.

At The Old Strathcona Farmers Market, there are two workshops every Saturday. We are located in an equally ideal environment for creative storytelling and comics creation. The Draw Funny classroom is located inside the market on the second-floor loft space. The first class begins at 10 AM until 12 PM. The second class starts at 1 PM until 3 PM.
