A colouring exercise… and I love drawing cats.
I did this design for some covid masks.
another doodling exercise
Because I love drawing monsters and I love drawing babies.
A pirate captain from a book I did with author, Dawn Ius.
Things get dicey for our hero. A colour filter over the band of pirates leads the readers eye to Chase’s reaction. This was a fun book to draw.
I loved trying to create scenes in this book to feel like they were really at sea. I played with the horizon lines and angles as if the characters were naturally rocking back and forth with the waves. Plus the colors I used in this book were so bright and vibrant. Fun, fun, fun.
I love drawing character’s expressions. Sometimes the subtle ones are my favourites… Grandpa’s and the cats.
This book revolved around an adventure at a farmer’s market. So much color! All the good food! Watermelons, and carrots an pies, oh my!
A promo piece featuring the hero of the Chase Duffy series and his sister, Amelia. As the series progressed, I was thrilled to watch their bond evolve as the stories progressed.
Another covid mask design that turned into a fun colouring exercise. And who doesn’t like zombies?
I started my career in newspapers, so I have always had a particular love for black and white ink washes. I mimicked my traditional ink wash style with an iPad Pro. It continues to evolve but I liked how this one turned out.
I used to draw picture-prompts for kids. This isn’t one of them but I think it could be… what’s the story here?
These are some quick sketches for a book idea. I really love the look of greyscale drawings. This is another iPad drawing.
It happens sometimes…
because I love drawing babies, dogs and expressions.
Lots of bugs in this book too! “Amelia Xerces Duffy”, written by Dawn Ius.
